DAY 10
THE LAST SEVEN WORDS OF CHRIST
WORD 6: ACCOMPLISHMENT
Jesus' declaration, "It is finished," marks the triumphant completion of His mission, contrasting earthly perceptions of defeat. His statement signifies the fulfillment of divine purpose—overcoming sin and Satan. This moment not only celebrates His victory but challenges us to continue His work of compassion and justice within the world.
Although Jesus completed the work of salvation, Christians are called to continue His mission in the world. In what ways can I contribute to this ongoing mission, and how does Jesus' example inspire me to serve others?
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the victory Jesus proclaimed on the cross. As He declared, "It is finished," remind us that our work continues. Empower us to carry the cross for others, sharing in Your love and sacrifice, and extending Your kingdom of peace and justice on earth. Amen.
WORD 7: SURRENDER
Jesus’ final words on the cross are powerful affirmations of trust and fulfillment. Quoting Psalms, He conveys deep anguish yet entrusts His spirit to God, signifying complete obedience and trust in divine providence. His actions encapsulate His mission’s completion, leaving us a legacy of faith and obedience in adversity.
How can I more fully entrust my fears, hopes, and challenges to God, emulating Jesus' example of complete surrender and trust in the Father's will, especially during my own moments of trial and uncertainty?
Father, as Jesus entrusted His spirit into Your hands, teach us to surrender our lives with the same trust and faith. In moments of trial and uncertainty, remind us of His example, that we may faithfully follow in His steps, committing our spirits to You, confident in Your salvation and love. Amen.
