DEACON ROBERT KINGHORN
GORDIE
Gordie’s story is one of pain, redemption, and the deep longing for forgiveness. Despite a life marked by hardship, he found hope in community and the love of God. His struggle to forgive himself reminds us that we all need grace—both from God and ourselves. True freedom comes not just from being released from prison, but from being surrounded by love and embraced by mercy. His life teaches us that no one is beyond redemption.
Is there something in my life that I am struggling to forgive myself for, and how can I open my heart to God’s mercy?
Loving and merciful God, You see beyond our past and call us into new life. When we feel unworthy, remind us that Your grace is greater than our sins. Help us to forgive ourselves as You forgive us. Like Gordie, may we find peace in Your love and freedom in Your mercy. Amen.
